Er, I’m pretty sure this cover has already appeared on this site:

Not that it isn’t bad enough to be worth scarring our eyeballs with again…

Oh, Stephen. One of the very first self-publishing success stories, even selling the rights to a mediocrely-crafted movie…and this is the best you can do? Surely, they paid you more than $100 for the movie rights, right? You couldn’t pay for a grown-up cover designer, with all the talent floating around on DeviantArt? On Pixabay? For cryin’ out loud!

Although it is not uncommon for established authors to release their back list titles with crappy covers (when artistic fans would do a cover for free, dang it), this is not the Christopher Paolini (“Eragon” and the Inheritance Cycle). This is Stephen R. Paolini (the Dracanos Saga).

I could be uncharitable and say “Kinda like that Stephen King who is not the Stephen King” because I am on only my second cup of coffee after a bad night.

This cover is one of those “has not been improved since it appeared here before” on 22 Oct 2017.

OMG, you are 100% right. I completely spaced it–and did exactly what this person intended. I mistook him for Christopher Paolini, of Eragon fame.

Well…at least I feel somewhat mollified that Christopher didn’t blow all those licensing dollars! Although, obviously, a skosh embarrassed that I missed it. Ah, well. Thanks, Namaan.

Is this guy related to the guy who made Eragon because that would answer so many questions and raise so many more
