The New Laughing Boy in Town (Chornicles of the Yena Dark Knight)

Holy hell. (And yes, the Amazon title says “Chornicles.”) (h/t Ian)

I wonder if Shutterstock have asked for their payment yet?
Jennifer the hyena is the laughing stock ideally suited to the new laughing boy.

You beat me to it! Nothing says quality like a pixelated, watermarked image for a cover. Also, I’m hungry for some Chornicles on the cob!

$5.99 for 4 pages?!? Heck, I’m going to crank mine up to $156 for 106 pages given that ratio — it’d affect my sales about the same! But she did get a review – how? The length, a stirring blurb, because it’s a series or an awesome cover -What is the secret? :0

With regards to the blurb and the seven-word preview … once again we have a case of “Well, those are all English words, but they’re not really making comprehensible English sentences.”

Laughing? That actually looks like a pensive hyena (or one in need of a nap).

The visible “hutterstoc” watermark and “www.shutterstock.com” are unique touchs for a lousy book cover. (Most people who use watermarked Shutterstock images try to conceal the watermark. If you buy a Shutterstock image, they supply you the image without the watermark.)

Yes, it is a 4 page book for $5.99, and the Look Inside! Preview is one just sentence: “The heavy soles of my books thundered.” That makes sense only as a typo — either “souls of my books” or “soles of my boots”.

Holy hell is right. How do you publish this thinking it’s in any way right to do so? These ‘books’ are a joke, right?
Now I’m hungry for a chornicle dipped in butter and cinnamon.

This cover ticks so many boxes it approaches the Jar Jar Binks level of what could go wrong. The Hutterstoc watermark is what already nails it, but it actually gets increasingly “better” as you scroll it. It has made me the newest laughing boy.
