And according to the Amazon description, this is the “Must read Southern Writers Magazine September/October 2015 edition,” for what it’s worth. (h/t Doug)

Any idea what’s behind the title? My best guess is a gargoyle trying to drive a brick into his face in order to relieve the pain of being on this cover.

The building on the right appears to be subsiding into the ground, the smoke at the indicates something is on fire, cannons are being fired, the world is falling apart, yet the couple in the front ignore it all to be romantic!

And why is the man wearing a big round gold shield on his arm?

I guess this author bought a dozen images and reuses them in different combinations. I’m sure they do the same with their writing, yet they sell a bunch of these.
I don’t know why I bothered putting effort into my books when readers clearly don’t want anything original or interesting.

It is discouraging, B.L. I definitely can understand that. I checked out some of your books’ samples and you have great ideas – I hope you keep writing!

I’m done writing due to health issues, but it’s becoming more difficult to justify keeping my books available.

A medallion touting “Amazon Bestseller” will make most jaded readers say, meh, bestseller in what sub-sub-sub-genre? It looks like peacockery even if earned. Just stop.
