The fact that the ball isn’t round should have given the cover designer/author a clue that the image was distorted.

Reminds me of those old sing-along cartoons where you follow the bouncing ball as it squishes and squashes its way along the lyrics. In the cartoons, though, the letters recovered afterward.

man, the cover text at top had me totally expecting a horror story of some kind. “the new problem is the doctor who treated him… is a an evil genius who replaced his body parts with those from baseball’s greatest villains!”

The whole cover makes it look like it’s going to be suspenseful somehow. I didn’t figure out otherwise until I got to ‘Love Off The Baseball Field’, which frankly looks out of place.
