What is that down in the cave? A penguin hiding out?
It looks like the search party has a part of mini llamas as pack animals. The bow-legged cowboy has his gun out but he’s confused and seems to be holding it by the barrel.
The other dude is pointing at “The Hum” sign- must be like the Hollywood sign, just hummier.
I think that this is more of a ‘false flagging’ than it is ‘art for a refrigerator.’ I like the artwork, honestly. I think it’s cute and stylized. But the cover and the description seem like they are for totally separate books. This cover would be good for one of those 4th or 5th grade “stages of reading” type of books.
I was just thinking that the artwork and title combined together seems like something that would be made if Edvard Munch did children’s books.

“What is that down in the cave? A penguin hiding out?”
No. It’s actually Waldo, wearing Michael Myers’ mask from Halloween.

Good thing it says novel, I would’ve never guessed it was a book.
Maybe this is one of those “would’ve looked great if it was done by a pro”, but I’m not sure. The figures are just too small and we can’t really see what they’re doing, they’re like ants running across a book cover.

The idea is there and is decent, especially if this is a children’s story. It would have made a fine cover if it had been worked up by a professional illustrator.
