A novel about fighting human traffickers and rescuing factory slaves in Bangkok? I submit that this is the wrong cover.
[Edit: Somehow managed to post this earlier without either a link to the sales page or my comments. I apologize for the confusion.]
I’m okay with this. Could spruce up the fonts a bit, though.
I’m totally getting human trafficking vibes from this cover. What’s wrong with you people?
That’s silly. How many humans could you possibly smuggle inside a swan? Two at most.
It’s not that the cover isn’t simple and nice, but that it doesn’t tell the book buyer anything useful about the book. In fact it is misleading.
“Book Description | Age Level: 12 – 18
The Last Orphan
Captain Danae Shepherd and her crew of Alex’s Legacy set out to rescue Shima Oryang’s niece from a slave-run factory in Bangkok…”
I don’t get that vibe from this cover.
Slavery in Bangkok? Nope. Seems more like a deeply introspective literary piece that uses the solitary swan as an obvious metaphor.
Realized that I somehow managed to post this without crucial information. All fixed now.
That’s OK, Nathan. We’d never miss one more LBC! Especially this one. 🙂
Looks like a cover from a writer’s group chapbook or annual anthology. For the record, most of those I’ve seen suck (the covers and 75% of the content), making this a double marketing fail. :-/
Wait..a book that’s not part of a chapter of a chronicle of a series of a trilogy of sagas? Does not compute! I need colons!!
Follow the link to Amazon you will find this is part of a series: The Last Orphan (The Orphan Ship Book 3) “The Last Orphan is the third book in The Orphan Ship trilogy.”
To colonize the title: The Orphan Ship: Book 3: The Last Orphan.
