Please tell me this is a new take on the “Old Yeller” trope. This time the wolf has to put the man down for his own good. And for being a disembodied head.
For a layered wolf/man cover, this one’s not bad, really. The pics are used nicely, aspect ratio is fine. Nice to see a not-so-bad, slightly cliche cover in the mix. I think beside others of this genre this one wouldn’t stand out, good or bad, but it would repel anyone either. I suppose that’s good, ummm…?
Take away the funky trees ans the weird texture they are causing and I’m good!

I don’t even hate the font.

Ya know, this could be a pretty decent cover. Make the guy, um more real, keep the fade on the wolf (I’ve seen it on a lot of different covers). Not sure I would keep them side by side; I think the ones I’ve seen have the human up close and personal, with the faded-out-look on the wolf behind.
I’d tell the author to take a look at some paranormal romance covers that have wolves on them and see if she can match those. Because as it stands, it’s not that bad of a cover (and I agree with LydiaFCG – I don’t hate the fonts).

A wolf, with a torsoless head … it’s freaking me out.
Meh. We’ve seen far worse that this.
A timeless tale of a psychopath and the wolf who loves him?

Please, someone tell me I’m right.

That should be “wouldn’t” repel anyone either.
::blushes for stupid typo::
I sadly have to agree with you on that one. For a wolf cover, it’s kinda well done. Except for the head hanging in mid-air. 😉
I don’t like how the tree is bisecting Transparent Wolfie’s head. Otherwise, this is a doable cover.
