That being said, I’ve seldom seen a cover that is more of a poster child for bad cover design than this one. I sometimes wonder if the people writing and publishing these books have ever actually seen a real book in their lives. I can’t believe they have.
And when you put text of any kind on your cover, make sure that you’ve copy-edited it. Mistakes in punctuation, grammar, etc. don’t bode well for what’s inside.
Yep, that’s what I saw too. Paint By Numbers (in the lovliest colors don’t you think?) Hideous Ketchup lettered bullshit is what it is. It truly upsets me when I see a book like this that assaults my corneas. In general, I respect my eyes and don’t want to hurt them.
Why is the blurb on the cover? And I didn’t see the gray smoke at first, either. 😉 As for the words huddled together in the middle of the cover in red, I can’t make out more than the first few words; I go kind of crosseyed after that.
Oh, there it is! Coming from the steeple!

Ha! Just caught it – “solder” instead of “soldier”, and there should be a period after lap.
Paint by numbers?

I think that red text says, “Don’t buy this book!”
Wouldn’t that be cute? Like April Fools!
