Master Plan: A Journey Through the Darkside of Chicago

It took me a while to realize that’s NOT a spider at the bottom…

I can’t read half of this cover, or was that the point in journeying to the darkside?

I thought it was an inkblot, representing “dark.” Then I saw the spider, and then I realized it was a little girl’s pixelated hair! *yikes*

I thought it was an equestrian statue. I can see the spider. Still struggling to see a little girl’s hair.

A little girls hair. I don’t see it. Looks like a plucked chicken to me.

It’s the top of her head looking down from the back. She’s got it sectioned into multiple puffy braid things. (I’m sure there’s an actual name for this style of hair but I don’t know it!)

What the heck happened to the M on Master? Seems it’s been partially rubbed out. (Maybe it was attacked by the gangsters from the other cover.)

Ok yes. And she’s wearing a white dress. Thanks for the clarification.

I’m embarrassed at how long it took for me to “see” the little girl’s head.

I had to enlarge that part to see it. I was looking at it on my phone.

That right there is a major FAIL on an ebook cover. Can’t read it on a tablet or smart phone.

Authors need to vet their book covers on a variety of devices, actual or simulated, to ensure it–and its thumbnail–is visible and readable. Doh…
