Disembodied eyes are the OLD headless torsos, since at least the original cover to “The Great Gatsby.” I used to run a “Floating Eyes” tumblr (http://floatingeyes.tumblr.com/), but I gave it up when all the covers started looking the same to me and I had to search the archives every time to see if I’d already posted something.
Of course floating eyes are a staple — I remember the ones from an edition of The Boston Strangler, among others — a lot of them just seemed to show up here in a short period of time, which I guess is to be expected sometimes.

It’s the latest bedroom poster for disturbed teenage girls.
Keep the freaky eyes and storm clouds but lose the emo-model.
I just don’t know what to say about this one.
I have no faith in the cover artist’s so-called talent…
Are disembodied eyes the new headless torsos? I actually think this one works pretty well, although there’s probably too much happening on it.
