The cover is depressing and creepy even with it being about child abuse. It makes me want to run from it and not read it.
So…is the child bride from the south, or only the book?
I mean, I didn’t know memoirs are rated on their locale. If the omniscent narrator speaks funny, going down the way, and all, it’ll be tur-i-bull.
If the intent of this cover was to depress the Hell out of me it’s succeeding in spades. Are those mattresses on the walls? That’s just downright disturbing.
The photographer really loved that lino.
