At least the author stayed in the lines when coloring it.

This is hand-drawn art, and DON’T JUDGE A BOOK BY IT’S COVER. The book was good, and the author is very kind. =) So I like it, this is hand drawn. Could you do this on your own?
You fail at reading comprehension, as it’s demonstrable that no one is judging the BOOK by its cover, we’re judging the COVER. The fact that the author is a kind person is a non sequitur; the cover is amateurish whether the author loves kittens or drowns them.
And if you insist that one must be able to do better in order to criticize, then you have publicly forfeited your right to criticize:
– a restaurant meal, unless you are a chef
– an 18-wheeler’s driving, unless you have a CDL
– an athlete’s performance, unless you are a professional athlete (and a game strategy, unless you are a professional coach)
– a pop singer, unless you are a professional musician
– a movie, unless you are a member of the DGA
– an elected official, unless you hold public office…
Actually, Skylar, that response is a copy/paste he drops on everyone who misses the point, as you did.
In fairness, since I want to believe that you are too intelligent to think that “I like it” is a serious answer, I’d invite you to elaborate on the principles of good book cover design you feel this example accomplishes.
My 7 year old niece who loves coloring books MIGHT be interested in this one if it was the only one available.
Edward Bulwer-Lytton: “The pen is mightier than the sword.”
Well, you wouldn’t know that by looking at this cover.
Too bad there’s not a Bulwer-Lytton Contest for bad book covers. Oh wait, there is… this website! 🙂
This reminds me of leftover artwork from that crappy Tarot set I saw in a New Age store years ago.

Blah, blah, blah, blah, BLAH.
You really took that much time to write that? Don’t you have something better to do?
Jesus…

Is your comment a copy and paste, Jake?
Seriously, please, go do something with your life instead of bashing a simple comment. It’s quite annoying.
