“Vikings attack the female Bramingham Monastery in the Kingdom of Northumbria” I thought this was an error at first. What does it mean, a ‘female monastery’? How can a monastery have a sex?
Then I deduced that the author probably meant a nunnery.
And someone felt ‘confused’ after being raped? The whole description just makes the characters and story sound trivial.
Also, a lot of this author’s books seem to have completely different covers as thumbnails, on the book page, or on the ‘look inside’ preview option. And looking at the cover ‘subjects’ and the book descriptions, I feel he doesn’t really have the greatest respect for women either. :-/
That’s a late 20th Century/21st Century name. I seriously doubt anyone named Kendra was around during the time of the Viking raids.
Oh, well… Say what you will, at least these covers have a similar, unified “look and feel.” Which is something book covers (especially in a series) should strive for.
Too bad that these covers will likely warn readers away, rather than attracting them.

“Kendra is raped by one of the villagers and finds her feelings confused”
Um, what?
Just “confused”?!?
Kendra?

That pic just screams “my hair is pasted on yay”
I thought the sail on that boat was part of her head band.
