I tried to image a slithering horror lurking just beyond the threshold of those decrepit buildings, but no frisson.
I guess some people have already got friends, family and fans lined up to buy their book and don’t need to sell to the rest of us by giving their book an intriguing cover.

At least the slithering horror has an open lane to get into town.
‘Tom is a journalist that has come on hard times. One day a friend from the Miskatonic university contacts him about a discovery at the Yonaguni monument outside Japan. A discovery that will change his life and maybe even the world forever.’
I guess the street could be in Japan. Or Massachusetts.

Maybe living in that town, as boring as it appears to be, is a kind of slithering horror. No? Oh well, I tried.
Hey, let’s use the title “Slithering Horror” and have nothing vaguely Lovecraftian on the cover!
Maybe there’s a basilisk in the pipes…
Is that a euphemism?
