I don’t mind this one either — except for the tag cloud, which is obtrusive and visually quite uncomfortable for me. The jumble of different font sizes and weights is the opposite of soothing, and the underlining just makes everything worse. (Does that whole menu column even have to be on the right? Before, there were two columns, one left one right, but if there’s just going to be one, can it be on the left — which to my mind is the more natural place for it; on the right it’s competing for my attention.)
Also, now that I come to use it, this comment box. I only get to see one and half lines of what I’m typing??? Sorry, but NG at all. Too uncomfortable to even proof this so I hope there aren’t too many typos.
Oh, I just realized it’s expandable! That helps! But can’t it be a reasonable size to begin with?
Nathan: I will *BUY* you a decent, usable template, if you will use it. I don’t know how the others are viewing this, but I’m on a Win8 laptop, and I can’t get anyplace I want to get. Posts/covers won’t open. The next/last doesn’t work. It’s hard to discern what’s what, because there is almost no color usage to distinguish a from b. The menu bar–in WHITE–blends into the ivory background. Surely, there is a “gallery” type template for WordPress that works, isn’t there?
I’m sorry, I don’t mean to sound crabby or whiny, but I don’t understand why you are choosing the themes you are choosing? Can you at least give us some ideas, as to why you’re choosing what you are? Is this just a typical blogging theme?
I went through a bazillion gallery-style themes, but they all either: a) cropped the images to a landscape proportion, b) insisted on displaying excerpts on the front page which ignored formatting and ran together, or c) had a non-defeatable slider which was completely wrong for my needs.
I made the background subtle on purpose, so that it wouldn’t distract from or conflict with the covers (I can’t count on what colors they’re going to have, after all), but I can replace the background and see if that’s better.
As for the rest of it… hell, it worked when *I* tested it…

Remember when I’ve said premium themes were of better quality than the free ones? WordPress is notorious for having a shitload of free crap that doesn’t work properly.
It’s functional and unobtrusive. I’ll still have to check on the phone, though.
