A nice concept, but poorly executed. And the type is absolutely unreadable at anything less than full size.

The title is hard to read at full size. I like the attempt at the red door in the tree, a little more work and refining would make this a decent cover.

The author says: My Mother is told mostly in the first-person narrative and from the author’s point of view. Set mostly in St. Lucia, the memoir juxtaposes the author’s personal experience of his mom, his mother’s researched life story (and that of her relatives), and St. Lucia’s contemporary history. It dwells on the workings of
Passed on in 2024.
As usual, it seems somewhat morbid to dwell on the deaths of the year without also recognizing the births of the same year… but with extremely few exceptions (I’m a grandfather now!), we don’t know which of the millions who came into the world this year will be familiar to us by the end of...
