Though there are coal fields near Nottinghamshire, the last thing I think when seeing cowboy boots and mining equipment is, “Hey, I bet this story is set in the UK.” Add in the title and a character named Stones McLure and the only thing preventing this from seeming like homosexual male erotica is the lack of a bare male torso.

What the hell is a “Top Hard Rule?” For that matter, other than what would seem to be the obvious–top, hard, and all that–in Dom/Sub sex, WTFrack is that? Or is that all it is?

I’m with WarGoat (there’s a phrase I never really thought I’d utter)–this cover screams TEXAS to me, not Nottinghamshire. It’s like the cover has cognitive dissonance.

But, Waffs: it ain’t. It’s a crime novel, from an established, trade-pubbed author. Written from the standpoint, apparently, of the criminal. It’s like…”hunh?” Perhaps this is one of those; a first novel from an author that was turned down THEN, but now, looks like money, so…voila!
