OMG! It’s PATS! For those of you who don’t get that, the “star” of this cover is “Pats” (Patsy Stone) from “AbFab,” aka “Absolutely Fabulous,” starring Joanna Lumley (previously on the Avengers reboot, post Ms. Peel, as IF). This show was a hoot, particularly if you are of ahem, a certain age and female and sowed your oats in the 60’s-early 70’s.
Tsk, tsk, lifting Joanna’s image for this. Of course, for all I know, she posed for it–anyone know?
Are you sure? I looked at this at full mag and the person in question looked totally like a pseudohuman. Cheekbones and jawline are all wrong.
For the record, I watched several episodes with my wife years ago when it was on. I hear that they started working on a movie last month. Probably should rent the DVDs and watch the series from the start to take a break from all the zombies and sci-fi we watch.
I am 100% positive. I normally never watch so-called “comedy,” but AbFab was near and dear to my heart. You need to see her in character as Patsy, with her hair up, to see it, I think. In fact…this may be a shot from ABFab, with Pats in costume. Humph…I’ll see if I can dig it up, but if that’s accidental, there is subconscious copying going on. IMHO
Hitch may be on to something or it could be a very remarkable co-incidink.
Looking only as a browsing book buyer: that cover is a mess.
Does imply alternate universe western. At hi-res the guy’s outfit is very Matrix style. The revolvers appear to be stainless S&W 1961 Centennial hammerless with modern grips.
The “Patsy” gal recalls Long Branch Saloon to me. The piano player’s expression made me think of the don’t-shoot-the-piano-player scene in “Eldorado”.
She gets a blurb from a Nebula winner and puts it on *that* cover? I hope nobody’s shown this to Scarborough!

At first I thought it said ‘Fanny and Rice.’ Which, if you live in the UK and therefore have a different interpretation of ‘fanny’ just doesn’t bear thinking about…
But bonus points for the photobombing Cerberus.

Recently ordered from Amazon and received The Emma Peel Megapack of The Avengers. All the episodes with Diana Rigg. 🙂
