I think maybe they’re long flags hanging off of the buildings…? Not sure but that’s what it looks like. Anyway I kinda like the background in theory but that font really ruins everything.

Looking close up on the cover jpg, those green things are streamers or banners hanging from flag poles.
But the real problem I see is that the horde of dark shadowy people are about three feet tall compared to the store front doors.
But then the title is the Littleville Uprising, isntit?
