In this case, though, the boring type is bizarrely positioned — both the title and byline are centered on top of one of the detailed spots of the art. There’s an entire sky for the title to occupy, and if the byline were moved one inch up or two inches down, it wouldn’t clash with what’s behind it.
I actually like the background. The text just isn’t well-placed.

I like this image. It’s really quite nice. It’s just a style of art, you don’t need to like it. The text could use some work, though.

Yes, the author’s name not being centered between the boats really bugs me. Not to mention the different leading between the lines of the title.
