To be honest, I rather like this cover. The typography could be handled better, but otherwise I think it is kind of charming. Certainly far above most of the other books that appear here!
I agree, the cover is actually pretty good. Now, if the site was called *Lousy Book Blurbs*, on the other hand:
“The author sincerely wishes that this small presentation will give you a moment of enjoyable reading. If by any chance these episodes may have succeeded in warming a heart or two or better if more, then he shall deem that heartbeat to be a fitting reward for all his endeavours.
The essays are designed for light reading, light in form but not in content. The tempo thus has to be light, jaunty with a liberal sprinkling of wit and humour, to enable the readers to sense and feel what is Myanmar and leave with fond memories. These were in fact written over a period spanning a decade, and so some of the given fact current at the time of writing might have change somewhat during the intervening years by the time this book goes to print. But the underlying theme is still relevant to the social spectrum of Myanmar.”
I guess it was too much work to edit and update his travel book… But thanks for the warning.

When I looked at the cover, I was already positive that this book would sound just like that mess of a blurb. They are both very similarly constructed, random things thrown haphazardly about without any thought to the result.
I guess this is a very successful cover then, it tells me exactly what to expect, even if that thing is a garbled mess of confusion, at least for once I know.
Side Note: For the people that ‘like’ this cover. Did you look at it? I mean really look at it. It is awful. We get used to really really bad covers here, so the just bad ones look amazing by comparison, but that is no reason to give this one a pass. It looks like a random assortment of Word clip art got tossed about a page during a learn how to use gradients tutorial.
Why does it say “Today” in the upper right corner?
It’s the publisher.
