No kidding. At first, I thought that the author’s name was “Barness,” for heck’s sake. The lower-case t’s in the byline look like those dino-floats for the pool.
And is the Title case D in Deception (which I originally thought was “Decepticon,” mind you) supposed to be an outline of a face? Facing to the left, or…?

I like the way the central figures sleeves levitate off the character’s arms.
I LOVE this cover. C’mon guys! Didn’t any of you notice the giant tentacle of His Lord Cthulu? It may look like it is part of that badly drawn snake, but the bottom is clearly covered in suction cups.
Knowing that this is how the Great Old One sees the world puts this entire cover (and the frightening nausea I feel) in perfect perspective.
And speaking of perspective – I agree with this artist – Why bother when it’s the end of the world?
I hope the writing was done by hand and isn’t an actual font.

PosRe: The maker of this cover is good enough to qualify for art school, wherein he/she could learn how to properly make book covers.
