I don’t think that the author knows. Apparently it’s yet another (YA) Young Adult (YA) story, so: it’s a YAYA. A YAYA story. A coming-of-age, kid’s gonna be a superhero story, whom, according to the description, for no apparent reason, decides he has to rescue his girlfriend, from some unstated something.
This has the ubiquitous “I look at my dad, and he’s a smaller version of me” opening, and the protag thinks about how he’s 6’0″ tall and 200lbs, or something like that. The second sentence alone sort of left me pondering. I tried to make it through the first 1500 words, but…nyah. Enough of the YAYA brotherhood.

I think it’s about being caught whilst taking a dump in the woods.
This cover, even before Ben Ripley’s comment, just makes me want to laugh.
Something about the way he seems to be standing vertically, but apparently falling, and apparently waving, in an oddly lackadaisical way, at his screaming (or laughing?) girlfriend.
And that “puzzle piece” element at the bottom? It must go.
WTF? Really, just WTF is this cover supposed to be? Or the book about?

Hey, honey. You got no toilet paper? Jeez, why do you ALWAYS do this to me? Uh, those leaves aren’t poison ivy, are they? 🙁
