I used to have an Adirondack chair named Glory . . .

It looks like the chair is a bridle in her mouth. However, I think the author is too hard on herself: ugly book covers offend the senses but they are NOT consider a crime scene yet.

Nonetheless, I will obey the warning sign. I will not cross that threshold; I will not look inside. Maybe it gets worse once you get past that awful cover.

It’s like the opposite of false flagging. Maybe we need a new tag? Call it ‘accidental honesty’?

“Crime Scene – Do Not Cross” does appear to be a cover banner rather than part of the art.
Like an opposite of the “Amazon Books – Look Inside” banner.
That banner (“Crime Scene – Do Not Cross”) belongs on most Lousy Book Covers.

Oooooooooooooooh, can we? Can we have a new tag? “Crime Scene?” Makes me happy just thinking ’bout it.

“Crime Scene” would be an appropriate tag – maybe too appropriate. I think a majority of these covers might warrant such a tag. “Accidental Honesty,” “Honest Accident,” or “Serendipity,” might be useful, but I think Nathan will shoot it down. He’s too lazy to want to add another tag.

And if he does add another tag, I’d prefer one that covers something that is a bit more useful – we don’t have a tag for those that “missed it by that much” or a book cover that “Doesn’t completely suck.”

Thoughts, anyone?

“Piedmont Island.” Somewhere near Valley Peak. Or Craggy Flats. Or the Great Soggy Desert.
