I’m experimenting with some new ad networks to see which ones can bring useful, contextually relevant ads without annoying the bejeezus out of us all. You may see some pop-ups, etc. over the next couple of days as I play around. Stay calm; pop-ups annoy me as much as they do you, and I’ll curtail them as soon as I encounter them. I spend as much time on this site as anyone, after all.
My 0.0002 cents (isn’t that the going rate?): I find video ads to be more annoying than pop-ups.
Yes: Pop-ups, auto-spawns, video ads with auto-audio, all the annoyances that plague modern life. A pox on them all!
The ones that keep showing up on the right corner are the lowest kind of ads at the moment.
Scam malware / adware crap asking you to update codecs and fix computer errors. Trying to infect us with their filth.
I don’t mind the ‘Here are some products we sell’, ‘look at the coast of Madrid, book today’, or ‘free shipping on your first order of books with us’ ads. You know those are ads, I accept them with open arms.
But that adware crap… dirties this place.
Yes, I’ll keep trying.
😀
You might want to consider CJ Affiliate, which lets you pick who you want to advertise. Used them on some websites I used to run and did a few decent sales. (I don’t use them now due to a change in websites)

I used CJ.com way back on another site, but it was so much effort to decide exactly which advertisers and creatives to use (compared to the return) that I ended up only using them for their Ebay affiliate program, until Ebay took it in-house.
