“From the moment I picked up your book to the moment I set it down I was convulsed with laughter. Some day I intend to read it.” — Groucho Marx to unknown author.

Having attended grammar school before the advent of the Internet and the smartphone, my recollection of the definition of the word grammar seems to differ from the one demonstrated on this cover, in that orthography (or whatever they call spelling these days) is not a part of grammar.

So, I consulted Wikipedia and learned that only linguists worry about stuff like I was taught in grammar school.

Next I consulted my go-to reference on English (Good English, 1915), which states authoritatively:

When a person says “Them is the kind for you and I” we may properly say that his grammar is bad.

And goes on to elaborate:

“Two and two are five” is a grammatical error and “Two and two am five” is an ungrammatical error.

There is no mention of spelling or orthography that I can find. But it is reassuring that Grammar is correctly orthographized on this cover.
