Just out of curiosity, if all of these historical romances were actually historically accurate, what percentage of English males would have to be dukes in order to have one for every poor but virtuous maiden?
Britain would have to be the size of the former Soviet Union.
I had a similar passing thought regarding Westerns vs. the actual twenty-year period during which the West was wild. Place would have been non-stop action and crowded with people thick as a cattle drive.
This despite the fact that towns were always several days apart.
Perhaps in Book 2 she will become desperate enough to look in a Western to find The Duke.
Throw in some ninjas and you’ve guaranteed at least one sale.
