I feel like the film strip idea itself is workable/creative, if they got rid of the background image. Just white or black or some tone-on-tone gradient. A font where the capital T and capital J don’t look alike. There’s good cover potential hidden in here.
Because someone didn’t notice that it wasn’t part of the selection when they applied the Bevel and Emboss effect. That they failed catch it in proofing is only one of many failures on this cover. (Proofing? What’s that?) Which bodes I’ll for the book itself.

Was it a long tourney? How long did the knights joust?
Is that Big Foot in the background saying “aah” behind Jaz and Carmen’s strips? I see his gapping mouth and he appears to have lost all his teeth.
