If I were a betting lady, which I am, on occasion, my gut would be that it shows up early and findably, on some random Google image search, OR, it happens to be free on Freepix or one of those. OR some blogger used it and left it on their site, easy for the less-reputable to take. Those are my best guesses.
It’s hard to know. It most definitely looks as though the same person made all those covers. I mean there isn’t bupkus for variance. It could be, Syd,but I admit, I don’t recognize it AS SUCH, which means nearly nothing.
I checked the copyright page to see if it was one of those cheap cover design places that sold the same cover multiple times, but the few that list a cover credit, give it to different orgs/people, which is why I thought maybe KDP, but I don’t know enough to know, either.
Is it weird that I know 2 books off the top of my head that use that exact same flame image for their covers? I mean exact.
Uh…no? Because that would make the rest of us weird?????
I mean, there are so many flame stock images, is this exact one just the first listed on some common source?
