I love that “Historium Press” is listed as an author and the one with the author profile. An author profile that says it is “a boutique hybrid publishing house exclusively for historical fiction authors”
How the holy hell can you be a “boutique” “hybrid” publishing house, when “boutique” implies selectiveness and all that, but “hybrid” means, “take all comers as long as they pay?” I mean…whut?
Have you guys heard/seen/read all these scammers out there, or quasi-scammers, posing as being “Amazon” companies or affiliated with Amazon, etc. There was one just yesterday (found it via the KDP forums) that claimed their company was the “new name” for Createspace!!!
Outrageous. The KDP people and I and others all told this poor sap that NOPE, that’s not Amazon, ain’t even close, and if they’ll lie to you this blatantly at the get-go…well.
We’re seeing this more and more. it’s horrifying. And they go out of their way to make their sites look and feel just like KDP. (sigh). It’s a real downside to “the Internet,” ya know?
I don’t know if any of it is on WB. Good note–i’ll send her an email or the like and see if she’s up-to-date on it. I assumed she was–but that’s a silly thing to assume. I mean…not to sound arrogant, but if this is fairly new to me–and I’m on the KDP forums 1-2 hours/daily, why would I think SHE is likely to be au fait with this crap? Stupid, stupid assumption on my part.
