A “new adult Paranormal Horror novel?” ADULT? Are you flipping kidding? And that’s why there are tweens on the cover? GIMME A BREAK!

to be fair, “New Adult” is a reading age range, like Middle Grade or Young Adult. New Adult is supposed to be about characters fresh out of college facing the challenges of full independence. They don’t mean adult as in euphemism for porn. And yes, their cover models are still too young and their phrasing unfortunate.

I thought I replied to this, but…must not have. I know that, Syd. I didn’t mean it was porn or erotica, lol. My comment was about the TWEENS on the cover, not the word “adult,” in terms of porn/erotica/romantica.

The floating head (can’t think of the term, not really superimposed, is it?) is kind of freaky – almost like a pseudo-vampire/alien (eyes) with a healthy dose of uncanny valley!

Nephilim, Brad, if memory serves. Nephilim-head.

Thanks, Hitch – maybe “Nagilum”? I just saw it as a tag for other LBCs on this site and ut seems to fit.

Oh, that’s right. I keep forgetting it’s Nagilum and not Nephilim. Duh.

I still think that Nephilim would be betterer. 😀

Well it is the ancient name for giants, maybe the offspring of humans and angels? Sounds pretty dope!

I remember the Star Trek episode that inspired the Nagilum tag. Trust me, even the Nephilim want nothing to do with that mess.

This is SO weird. This is the second time, TODAY, that I’ve seen someone use the (old) Requiem font, (title block) by Chris Hansen (Not the Hoefler Requiem!). It’s not a well-known font, so this really is…peculiar.
