Lovecraft like a number of New Englanders loved beans. He once rhapsodized over finding a tasty brand of canned beans, which lead some to believe he survived in poverty on canned beans. He corrected them by listing typical meals: a large donut and slice of cheese for breakfast, veal loaf and potato salad from a deli for lunch, various stratagems he used to hide his hot plate from his landlord. He cooked in his rented boarding house room, he was a bachelor on a budget with modest tastes. But with friends loved spicy foods and when touring liked to sample local dishes. The idea of a Lovecraft cook book is amusing. He was not Anthony Bourdain.
I’m all for a Lovecraftian cookbook, especially featuring beans (which I too happen to love, although as I age, they love me less!).
But this thing looks like a Mashup between the “Happy Baker Cookbook” and Lovecraft, which…leaves me a bit “duh?” I mean…I went over to Amazon and looked at some of the listed recipes, in the TOC, and it’s pretty funny. It’s got about 20 recipes and they are all very Americana, from Pot Pie to 5-bean chili to you-name-it. LOL. Lovecraft and Grape Jelly (yes, that’s one of the recipes).
The thought of Lovecraft, writing whilst coated in Grape Jelly would explain a lot…
They can also make it the Facebook guy cookbook with very little additional effort.
I freely admit, not seeing the crossover appeal or the segue here…The Lovecraftian cookbook? Does it give you recipes to summon the Old Ones, or what?

I just wouldn’t trust any of the seafood recipes.
Maybe Mad Arab Abdul Alhazrad ran a Lebanese/middle eastern restaurant chain on the side. It was called NecronomicDonalds.
I would say it was actually called “NecronomNomNom,” but…

GROAN…..
Yes, I subsequently saw this eldritch Amazon offering. Gotta love the New England Damned Chowder.
Hp lovecraft is rolling in his grave
Naaah. If some of the stuff that Derleth and Lumley did to his Mythos did’t already set him spinning, he ain’t gonna spin.
