I would have thought a modern digital font would have kerning values for letters AV to avoid that gap. At least the P900 comp system we wrote in the 1970s had a backspace command you could insert to avoid titles with interletter space that looked like wordspace.

Dream on, Naaman! There are new fonts “produced” daily and of those, I see exceedingly few kerning tables. It’s sad, but there ’tis.
