Holy Jeebus Cristo. What sort of loon thinks that anybody on earth is going to read a screenplay of nearly 300K words? It could be the next best thing since one of the GOT bunch, but…ain’t nobody, nowhere, nohow, gonna just come along and say “Hey, there you go. That’s what I need for some light beachy reading, bygod!”
Right? I thought I read somewhere that in screenplays, one page is approx one minute of screen time. That would make this a four and a half hour movie….
Yes, that’s right. It’s…onerous. And that’s as a movie. I can’t quite work out how looooooooooong this mother would take to read. There’s nothing organically and natively easy for your typical reader of fiction about reading screenplays, plays or scripts. It takes commercial readers a while to get into the groove of them.
And take into account a page of a screenplay tends to have more empty space than words. All of the Character dialog, location descriptions, suggested camera directions, and other things are each on their own line, with each element separated by an empty line.
