I’d much rather visit The Archipelago of Last Years! 1023 and 1776 were favorites, and there must be ones by now that are 1970s and 1980s, respectively.
Well, that’s almost embarrassing, given that I insist that we watch Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer (the Burl Ives 1964 edition, the ONLY ONE!) absolutely every. single year. I remember now. Dang.
Don’t forget to stop at…the Island of Misfit Toys. 🙂
True Confession time–to this day, 58 whatever years later, do you know I still get choked up watching RRNR? It’s pitiful. And as my other half would tell you, I don’t get choked up or weepy at ANYTHING. It’s bizarre.
Oh, I sniffle a bit. But it’s funny, the crying gene mostly passed me, by and large. (I did get a bit choked up when Jeremy Brett passed away. I’m just odd.) Both for people I know and most certainly for people I don’t (actors, etc.)
I know a lot of authors are proud of their work, but am I alone in thinking you have no right to put “book whatever of the yadda yadda saga” on the cover until you’re a household name?

Brad, I gotta admit, I’m completely missing your segue here….
Ah, perhaps I can introduce you to one of our favorite holiday specials, “Rudolph’s Shiny New Year”!: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudolph%27s_Shiny_New_Year?wprov=sfla1

For sure! That island had an unsettling, slightly horrifying vibe to it An early example of the Uncanny Valley?!?

Okay, but how are you when Spock dies?

I think I see Rudolph’s nose there on top of that lighthouse thing.
Or, in short, here’s the map 🙂 It was just a neat and fun part IMHO!

The fact new authors default to publishing series has always bugged me. Especially those who can’t write.
