First you think, “This is actually one of the better Robert E. Howard public domain covers posted here.”
Then you realize how far your standards have fallen.

That’s one way to prevent sunburnt nipples.
The saddest part of all is when you realize you’re right on both counts. Pseudo-humans are at least somewhat easy on the eyes if you’ve watched enough cut scenes from the Fallout and World of Warcraft video game franchises.
With exceedingly few exceptions, pseudo-humans are an immediate pass for me, when I see them on a cover. Don’t get me wrong–there are some pseudo-human…well, “artists” out there that do pseudos that are incredibly and almost indiscernible life-like, and those, hell, yes, I’ll buy. But this ^^^ type of quality? HARD pass.
Never said pseudo-humans made me want to buy the book; just that they’re easy on the eyes (and that they got their start as porn stars).
