I remember reading somewhere that the two authors were friends, or mutual admirers, and canonically the Lovecraft universe and the Conan books are set in the same world but separated by one or two thousand years. I haven’t pored through the Conan stories hunting for Lovecraft references, though, and although I’ve read Lovecraft’s works I’m not familiar enough with Conan lore to pick out any references he might have included. So I can’t verify it.
They were good penpals and mutual admirers, and each made passing reference to the other’s creations in their own work — not so much in conceiving of a joint “canon,” but in what we would call “Easter eggs” today.
ALSO, isn’t that dude a recognizable actor? Not like uber-famous, but…been in a bit of this and that?

Know, oh prince, there was an Age undreamed of, between the rise of Aldi and the bright days of Lidl when shining grocery stores spread across the world like blue mantles beneath the stars and many deals were to be found on store brand marinara.

“Canst thou believest what they be charging for sundried tomatoes in these dark days?”
This is not what is good in life.
But a mashup of Howard’s Conan and Lovecraftian horror – that would be good!
