BENJAMIN JONES: The Call of The Shaman
“A page-turning debut in the tradition of Rick Riordan’s ‘Percy Jackson and The Olympians’ mixed with J.K. Rowling’s ‘Harry Potter.'”
With art in the tradition of Mrs. Anderson’s kindergarten class mixed with Mom’s cellphone camera.
I’m pretty sure that when this particular shaman called, my phone identified it as “Spam Likely,” and I hit the “block caller” button.
Would it surprise you to learn that the cover artist is also the author…?? And also the publisher?? And also the editor (credited in-book)?? And also the audiobook narrator…?? And finally the inspiration for this new punctuation style??
Marc? What new punctuation style? On the cover?
Nah, inside, via the preview.
She has a serious addiction to misplaced commas. She requires a Comma 12-Step Program.
I imagine that there are lots of authors who are their own one-and-only editors, but most are smart enough not to advertise the fact.
But of course it’s comparable to the two hugest middle grade series in the past 30 years. Who provided that quote? WHO WAS IT? I would like to subscribe to their newletter.
Given that most of the quotes in the “Praise for the Benjamin Jones series” demonstrate the same understanding of grammar as the bit of the sample I read, I have my suspicions on this…
It’s kind of a shame. The typography for the cover does display some suitability for the genre and awareness of layout, but that…drawing or watercolor or whatever it is, just…kills this cover dead. Really, it’s unfortunate.
Nathan, are you aware that the sidebar content (recent posts, adverts, etc.) only appears on the home page and not at all on the individual posts/covers? The pages with the comments–which is what everybody actually reads? If that’s how this template rolls, you’d be murdering any per-view income you’re getting from Adsense. Just an observation.
Still tinkering.
Just informing. Not a problem.
Still tailoring, soldiering, spying, too?
(I am still punning badly.)
And what would be an example of you punning goodly, there, @Naaman?
I guess the only thing that can be said in defense is “Please don’t squeeze the Shaman.”
OH! Plus 5 for that one!
