I’m not sure it’s eyeshadow. I was thinking it’s that eyeblack that football and baseball players put under the eyes to cut down on the glare, and that some of them overdo and have it covering half their faces. Maybe the Jarl is just getting ready for spring training.
It’s the whole thing with the 3 separate faces–the one nearly-indiscernible one above her head; her face with the blackout eyeshadow and the face in her womb…it’s hard to tell what’s meant to imply what here.

Methinks the Jarl is standing on her shadow’s shoulders with a huge cloak, so they can sneak into the nearest bar without getting carded.
But then if I have an Algerian tag, I’ll have to have a Papyrus tag, and then a Comic Sans tag, and then a Chiller tag… I don’t want to give a cookie to that particular mouse.

Could be, I just imagined the Jarl was new to makeup and ended up overdoing it a bit

Algerian tag, please. It NEVER looks good, anywhere.
“bad font choice” is not enuf?
[looking at other LBCs with Algerian]
Yes! We need an Algerian tag!!
But then if I have an Algerian tag, I’ll have to have a Papyrus tag, and then a Comic Sans tag, and then a Chiller tag… I don’t want to give a cookie to that particular mouse.
I will agree “bad font choice” ought to be sufficent.
I must feel there are places where Algerian, Papyrus, Bleeping Cowboy, Comic Sans, Chiller and other named fonts are misused.
But other than “bad font choice” where obvious, that is a valid flag for wrongly abused fonts without requiring separate tags by name of font.
I have looked at the available fonts since my tenure at Kingport Press from 1969 to 2004. The potentials for misuse are legion,
I must say, there are no faces covered by type on this cover.
I weep that I must count that as a blessing at LBC, but it is true.
