Northanger Abbey honestly wasn’t all that good. I suppose that the LBC designers can have it.
I’d try to protect Pride and Prejudice, but the published fanfic writers have already gotten there and done so much damage that it’s pretty much a lost cause.
However, if any of these “let’s create a lousy version of a public domain book” people get their mitts on Persuasion, there will be explosions. Nuclear ones.
It could be worse, like that ebook made from a public domain text of Lovecraft’s “The Dunwich Horror” (9 Jun 2021) that cover did not amount to a hill of beans.
