Everything would be an improvement for Rick Toenail, that monster of a goose being a strong contender for the Lousiest Cover Ever. That said, the new cover of “Hardening the Steel” does show something looking like steel rather than, if I may be pardoned, wood.

The new cover still belongs here, but it’s such a vast improvement over the original that it feels like it’s practically a work of art.

Yes, I have to upvote this one concept/idea a million times:

The goose cover deserves its own Walk of Fame. I mean, it so far outclasses all other LBCs, that it should win something…unique. We should name a special/speshul award for it:

The Goosie.

(bow). I hereby petition for the creation of The Goosie.

Well, that’s why you make the site-owner Teeny Bucks, Nathan. I mean…firstly, it’s your site and your award, so you get to create those parameters, mas oui?

However, I would think that it would require some sort of 100% vote by those that would. Perhaps it’s one more round of voting, after the Lousies? Or…Hmmmmmm…not sure.

But truly, the TDDSS&PP book deserves a spot of its own, does it not? Something unique, in the annals of LBC? We’ve had some grotesqueries, fersure, that were…well, deserving, let’s say. I still remember that other book with the big-booty wimmen that was..horrifying.

But this one, that bird…there is truly something OUTstanding about it that deserves more than passing acknowledgement alone. I hate to see that level of speshul go unrewarded.

My vote for most improved in this group is Adalbert. It actually looks like a book cover now. At least in thumbnail – truth be told, I didn’t look at the full sized version so if it looks like crap full size, I retract my compliment.

I would agree that Adalbert is definitely the pick of the litter here. Nothing else is even close, in terms of pure improvement and general, overall commercial viability.

My vote for most downgraded is hardening the steel.
The previous one looked like the high schooler put a lot of effort in it.
The new one looks like it was slapped together from two photos

Are we gonna just ignore that Doggie Darwin could have improved their cover with almost ANY change and instead just went with a somehow worse color palette?
