You know, I once wrote a short story (The Drapes of Wrath–don’t bother looking, it’s not at any book site near you…), and included a reference to wee Ralphie, and NOBODY knew who he was!!!
These were fellow writers, in a writers’ group, for crying out loud. Downright disturbed my belief in The Force, lemme tell ya.

I looked at a customer’s photo of the book and it looks a lot better than this, so obviously this preview isn’t doing the cover any justice
??? This is the same preview that they see on Amazon. Not one iota different. It’s nice if the real, physical book looks better in person–but that has nothing to do with the selling impact of the cover in its natural habitat (Amazon et al).
This is patently a Cover Creator cover–we all recognize that template with the hideous blue bars on the left–and that’s a shame. S/he appears to have had most of what s/he needed for it. It’s a shame that she covered up so much of it.
Guy looks like grown up Ralphie; he even evidently shot his eye out with the Red Ryder BB gun air rifle.

The physical book, though, looks much better than the ebook — so much so that you really have to wonder why the ebook version was created.
All I was saying is that the preview wasn’t doing the real cover justice, not that the OP purposely picked something that didn’t represent the book.
