New Covers For Old 2022: Day VII

There are, I think, three distinct improvements in this batch. I hope they compensate a little bit for the rest.

Heavens! All sorts of contenders today.

  1. Improved, but: Mind Candy. The BUT is mighty!
  2. Sweet Addiction–but that much improvement is like saying, “well, he’s a murderer, but at least he’s not a serial killer.” Not enough by far.
  3. Annwyn’s Brood/Blood/?: Yes, yes, we all loved Bleeding Cowboys, but not when it’s then further obscured, kids. Also, in a thumbnail, am I the only one that thought some large, er, penetrating object was piercing upwards, under that girl’s skirt? In thumbnail, seriously.
  4. Magiclal Mayhem–Mayhem that font and omg, fix the glowy whatevers! Terrible.
  5. 2022’s Obscured Text Winner, thus far: The Hunter’s Rede
  6. Most Hopeless: Sovereign’s Pairing.
  7. Endeavors of the Unsung: Jesus wept, is that meant to be a dragon there? Speaking of “obscured”? And what the hell does the Mirror Mirror on the Wall, who’s the most obfuscatory of them All” supposed to mean? Anybody got any thoughts on genre?
  8. CwazyuttlePan called Love…well, ’nuff said there.
  9. The Snow Witch…sigh. I mean…I feel as though somewhere there is trying hard, but dang.
  10. A Long Walk Home: A Christmas Novelette, Angel Y Evildwel Christmas Novelette…you know, if you gotta write that much of the plot on the cover, the cover ain’t workin’.

Sigh for today and my not-to-be-numbered list…

Did someone tell the group “Hey, lighten up”?

Sweet Addiction only needed some title treatment and rearranging to be made passable. Though, the image does not convey “Romantic Comedy.”

Annwyn’s Blood cover Is vastly improved.
The old cover had bleeding cowboys font that was too big and it wad much too cluttered. The new one has better font that is much smaller and much less cluttered artwork. It gets one thumb up from me đź‘Ť.

Ian…suh-weeetie! That new font is not one iota better than BC. Hell, it’s worse and less readable. The illustration wouldn’t be bad, but it’s being obscured, overall, by the Incurably Bad Font Addiction.

Author: You need a Bad Font 12-step program. Go forth and promise to ne’er Font Unreadably again.
