I’d like to think that that toddler is aghast at the use of Papyrus.
It’s always disturbing and a little sad when the cover artist is so proud of their work that they make sure they get a credit inside the book.
What is she looking at? Not the smoking canon or the fluttering white banner, both affected by different air currents in that wobbly Big Top. Maybe she sees a real book cover over there to the left and it amazes her, as she longs to escape her own clown-like cover.
