I am always a little embarrassed for the poor souls who are so desperate to get a medallion on the cover of their book that being a nominee for a prize or a finalist is considered really significant. By the way, anyone can submit a nomination for the Carnegie/Kate Greenaway medal. This year there were 152 books nominated. So I guess as soon as you or someone else submits your book you can put “Carnegie Medal Award Nominee” or your cover.

Aw, c’mon! I thought it had legs, m’self.
