To modify Churchill, if this were my book cover, I’d drink from that poisoned chalice.

If Mabel ever saw this depiction of her (not to mention the COMPLETELY period inappropriate clothing–it’s only off by about 300 years), she’d poison the damn author.

“Medieval” covers almost a thousand years, and nobody dressed like this in any of them. Then again, I see so many “Regency” romances with women in modern prom dresses, I don’t know why I care. BUT I DO!

AND, whilst I’m at it, that looks like a dude.

MWAHAHAHAH. Yes, y’know, those cameras in 1007 were just so primitive. They added 10 lbs and 30 lbs of testosterone!

LOL, well maybe, but I meant the model. She’s not a big woman. Even from the photoshoot buddy got his pic from there are more flattering shots. Like this one. Her name is Victoria Borodinova and she takes A LOT of photos in costume, lingerie, etc and posts them on Pexels/Pixabay.

Well…ooookay then. (Not sure I understand why someone would do that. Pexels and Pixabay are not paying sites, so…it starts giving you that “things that make you go hmmmmmm” vibe, if you really think about it.

Does it? I assumed she did it for fun, and maybe ego gratification. She may not believe the photos are “good enough” for paying sites. All kinds of non-suspicious reasons, imo. Or I could be naïve!

Remember, the vessel with the pestle holds the potion with the poison and the chalice from the palace holds the brew that is true.

Yabbut what happens when Alice pours the potion from the pestle, into the chalice from the palace? Is the brew still true, whilst your lips turn blue?
