I Love concept/takeoffs on old EC horror comics covers, but the art has to be there, at least be somewhat Wally Wood-worthy. For one of my own books we did something like this for a chapter illustration, and my artist (Chip Karpus) got it quite right.
My first reaction on seeing this cover was, “Oh, dear Lord, please don’t say this is illustrated.”
Unfortunately, the dear Lord responded, “It’s a comic book. Every single page looks like this.”
For once, I can say that this cover captures EXACTLY my feeling upon seeing it.
