Isn’t Barbara Freethy a real-deal trade-pubbed author? Holy crapdoodles, what happened here?
Republishing the backlist, natch.
Sure, but oughtn’t she have the shekels to pay for decent covers? I mean, of all the people?
Ain’t the shekels, it’s the sense.
Yabbut, Nathan, “…with great shekels, comes great responsibility.” So sayeth Uncle Ben!
I mean…where’s that responsibility now, to her readers, I ask????
She may honestly not know the difference. Too many bestselling authors think they know what makes a good cover…
Well, to be fair, she DOES have the name. Her brand recognition, as it were.
Many of her readers may well just grab it for that reason alone.
Her cover designer was smart to put that as the primary visual element on the cover. I’ll say that much.
