It took me a moment to realize that the hummingbird wasn’t squashed into some bizarro-world ratio but was sitting on a nest. One of those things that probably worked fine, in the full-size refrigerator drawing, but was never considered at typical Amazon-thumbnail-size. Shame.
I figured out what it was right away, but my question (as a birder) is “why is there a male hummingbird sitting on a nest?”
Because a cursory internet search shows that only the female incubates the eggs. Not only that, but she’ll chase any males away from the nest because hummingbirds are aggressive and territorial little sh#ts.

Oh, is that what that is? I thought that for some reason, somebody decided to put a hummingbird in a beaded coin purse.
I thought at first that it was a hummingbird and a frog.
Honest to God, me too.

You ever read the comment before you read the name of the commenter but you already figured out who it is? 🙂
Well, you see, Julie, when two daddy hummingbirds love each other VERY much….
