You should have seen the one that got away!

But the dragon illustration is impressive, and even the hapless hunter seems well done. Is it the clash between illustration on a real photo background that makes this not work?

Mostly, yeah. The stylized dragon vs. the photo-referenced (and probably photo-traced) child vs. the photographic background.

Honestly this is some nice art that just needs a better background. I find the dragon impressive though.

The dragon illo is absolutely terrific. Too bad it’s kerplunked on this particular cover, though.
